7th Annual OARA Tire Take Back Event

With close to 60 participating auto recyclers, tire haulers, and processors from across Ontario and led by the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA), the Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS), and the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA), the 7th Annual Tire Take Back Event from May 24th to June 4th, 2016, raised a total of $117,998 to support Sunshine Dream Programs. During the 12-day tire recycling blitz, Ontario residents and farmers recycled their used tires for free at local tire collectors, haulers, and processors with collectors donating collector fees for each tire to Sunshine. Funds raised in 2016 broke the $1 million threshold of total funds raised for Sunshine since the Tire Take Back Event began in 2010 and recycling 459,071 old tires into new dreams for Sunshine Dreamers. Thank you to OARA, OTS, and OFA, and to all the collectors, haulers and processors and congratulations to Early’s Auto Parts in Alliston, ON highest number of tires collected.
